Guardianship Program

**We are now accepting guardian applications for one guardian family.**

At Roots & Rocks Homestead we believe that each pup should be raised in a loving home, and in order to give all of our dogs the best possible home it is important to us to limit how many of these amazing dogs we keep in our home. Becoming a guardian family is a great way to have your own golden retriever as your forever pet, at no cost to you, and gives us a way to expand our breeding program without kenneling pups. This ensures that each of our pups is raised in a loving home.

Guardian families will be carefully selected to ensure that each pup is given the love, attention and care that they each deserve. The family must be approved as guardian parents and agree to abide by our contract of care.

Adoption fees are waived for our carefully selected guardian families, with puppies able to join your home starting at 8 weeks of age. Guardian families must be prepared (own their own home, car for transporting, etc.,) have prior experience with dog ownership, be willing to house train and obedience train, provide high- quality food as well as regular vet checks including heartworm/flea and tick prevention, have a fenced back yard to contain the puppy and be able to drive the dog to and from our home for breeding and whelping.
